During the Urban Sketching Safari in Rome, I got to know Stephan as an enthusiastic teacher and amiable person. He taught me to look better and to dare more, to work in a larger format and to use material I had never thought about! I look back with great pleasure on this introduction to Rome and Urban Sketching! An absolute must for both novice and advanced draftsman: Stephan knows how to challenge everyone at his or her own level! Combined with Mariët’s fantastic care, this is guaranteed to be a wonderful trip ?

In the first place we came for painting and we learned a lot from Mieke about materials, the latest techniques, and a different way of looking.
Tips that I immediately started working with at home. It was also very nice that we were allowed to work on beautiful canvases, quality paint and great brushes. But we didn’t just come to paint, we also wanted to see some of Italy.
We stayed in a beautiful house with a view of Lake Bolsena, with a beautiful garden where we could eat and paint.
From here Mariét took us to the beautiful towns Bolsena, Marta and Sorano, where we also painted on location. The visit to the sculpture museum of Niki de Saint Phalle was truly an experience. but also the walk on the Etruscan path in Sorano was beautiful.
But above all we laughed a lot together in the evening while enjoying a glass of wine and guitar music. I am looking forward to the reunion and when I will have my paintings at home I will often think about this fantastic week.
